SOLD (More Coming Soon):
HARMONIC PERCOLATOR - ALBINI SPEC

The Brute Creations Harmonic Percolator (Albini Spec) is an adaptation of the Interfax HP-1 Harmonic Percolator, an extremely rare and highly sought-after fuzz/overdrive from the mid-1970s.

Not much is known about the history of the unit other than that they were made in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by Ed Geise, owner of an electronics repair shop called Interfax Electronics.

The Harmonic Percolator is a two-transistor fuzz, but it bears no resemblance to any other of its contemporary pedals such as the Fuzz Face or any of the Tone Bender variants. It uses a PNP germanium transistor paired with an NPN silicon, allowing it to run in a standard negative-ground configuration. The transistors and some of the components were purposefully obscured in the original. Adding to the mystery, there were several circuit changes made throughout the run, so even if you manage to find one, there’s no guarantee that it’s one of the ‘good’ ones.

The Percolator was perhaps most famously associated with producer & musician Steve Albini as one of his “secret sauce” effect units. Curiously, his unit seemed to sound different from other Percolators, and when it was dissected, it was found to have several different values than others that had been traced. His is the only known unit to use these values. Because of this, there are really two different versions of the Percolator, the “stock” version and the “Albini” version. Many people prefer the Albini version, and so this pedal is that version. The stock version sounds very different to the point where they’re almost two different pedals.

Housed in a Shellac-themed enclosure, the Brute Creations Harmonic Percolator is an exact replica of the known schematics of Steve Albini’s Interfax HP-1, and so has no switch option for variations in clipping diodes. I think you’ll find that this does not limit what this pedal is capable of. Set the Balance and Harmonics on Maximum, and like Steve said, your guitar will pretty much play itself.

This pedal requires a 9 volt DC centre-negative power supply (Boss style) to operate (not supplied).

This is a pedal version of the Tube Voice circuit of the cult classic and long discontinued rackmount amplifier, the Intersound Instrument Voice Pre-Amplifier. Most famously used by Steve Albini of Shellac, and best known for its distinctive clangy tone with the treble cranked, especially with aluminium - necked guitars.

Built  with high quality components and housed in a robust 1590B enclosure with Shellac - inspired graphics, this pedal uses a unique transformer based "Tube Voice" distortion generator that is highly responsive to the input signal, achieved by placing the two band shelving EQ before distortion is applied (the opposite of most drive pedals). Gain can be applied to a specific frequency band: boost the treble for that signature Albini clang, or maximise the bass for fuzz overload.

This pedal has four controls:

Level: Output Volume,  with more than enough range to overdrive your amp's input

Gain: controls overdrive/saturation levels,  highly interactive with the EQ

Mass: (Bass) active pre-distortion low shelf boost/cut

Velocity:  (Treble) active pre-distortion high shelf boost/cut

9v centre negative (Boss style) power supply

required (not supplied).

SOLD: INDUSTRIALIST

Used but Good Condition
Short scale 24.75 neck
38mm thick two-piece lightweight Tulipwood body finished in Oxide Black with matt lacquer
3 ply black-white- black scratchplate and 3mm thick aluminium rear sustain plate.
Flat-pole Alnico 5 P90s wired to 500k Alpha pots with shielded braided 22awg wire, Orange Drop caps, 3 way switch and Switchcraft jack .

Fitted with D'addario 10-48 nickel strings.
The light weight of this build makes gigs a breeze, while the short scale neck can give a twangy edge to heavy gain settings.

I built this in 2021 and only played one gig with it, the rest of the time was at band practises and at home, and does show signs of being played.

SOLD:

FEEDBACK LOOPER PEDAL

"Songs About Feedbacklooping" Edition.

Handwired Feedback Looper, designed to open up a ton of sonic possibilities and bring new life to old pedals. These work in a unique way to bring out the most extreme properties of your effects. The goal of the circuit is to route the effects chain to loop back upon itself, causing insane and momentous cacophonies of brutal sonic saturation

Built in a pedal board friendly compact 1590B enclosure,  the controls are simple: Input, Output, Send, Return; a single knob controls the amount of Feedback, the Feedback Footswitch engages the Feedback Loop effect for sustained bursts of looped feedback or stuttering noise. The Send and Return work like your standard amp's effects loop, and you can patch in any combination of effects pedals that you would like to Feedback upon themselves.

Similar to other feedback loop pedals out there like the Total Sonic Annihilation by Death by Audio, or the Eye of God by Devi Ever, the difference is I've made an affordable alternative for those wishing to push their musical experimentation a little further.

"Finally got round to plugging in the feedback pedal, it’s awesome, works really well with my battered old DD3, everything from hissing static, howling winds, walls of noises and plenty of what the f**k was that. Cheers!"

The pedal takes a 9v centre-negative power supply (not supplied) for the LED only.  The pedal will still operate without a  power supply,

NOTHING SHORT OF TOTAL WAR

An Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Civil War clone using the correct schematic and  components. Very dark and bassy fuzz with a smooth and clear mid range and decent clarity. Still fuzzy, with noisy undertones, but much more controlled than my other Fuzz builds , the Amplifier Worship and Brutalist Fuzz.

Unity is around 9 o'clock,  leaving plenty of huge output available on the Volume pot. This was built on a Jeds Peds PCB for maximum reliability and is housed in a 1590BB enclosure.

Controls are simple:

YIELD adjusts your output Volume (unity is around 9o'clock).

TEMPER is your Tone control. Wired RAT-style, fully Left gives more treble frequencies, fully Right gives a morel bass response.

ENDURE is your Sustain control, which also adjusts the level of Distortion. Fully Left is pretty much your clean signal. Fully Right is maximum Distortion and Sustain.

Requires a 9v centre negative (Boss style) power supply (not supplied) .

This model has some minor imperfections in the enclosure graphics,  so I'm doing it a bit cheaper.

Demo video Here.

£60.00 plus Shipping (Please ask for a quote to your destination).
