The Noise Maker Market was my first ever show exhibiting and demonstrating Brute Creations guitars and pedals.
Our stand was busy all day with the most terrific people from some seriously good bands trying out my aluminium-necked guitars and all of the pedals I make. We sold a few of the Brutalist and Who FearsThe King pedals too, and had a great time meeting the other excellent exhibitors.
I demo'd Brute 500 no.1 and the whole pedal range on the NMM stage in a suitably raw and noisy manner, which went down really well. An absolutely great day, and my huge gratitude goes to the event brainchild Adam Williams and his team, and James Crook and Simon Hannington for their invaluable help on the day.

Working on a custom left-handed Brute 500 for a client in Tokyo, Japan. Made of stained Ash, this has forearm and belly relief and will have a custom black anodized Hoxey 25.5 neck fitted to it. Originally the customer requested Electrical Guitar Company JM500 pickups, but this resulted in lots of noise with the push-push switch he wanted, as they are not Reverse Wound Reverse Polarity. I wound a set of RWRP high-output Jazzmaster pickups for him, complete with 42awg wire, 19mm Alnico 5 pole pieces and 5mm steel baseplates. This will also have a Hipshot fixed bridge and locking tuners, and a 3mm black anodized rear sustain plate when completed.
Shaped and routed a 32mm thin Brute 500 body for a 24.75 scale chambered Hoxey aluminium neck, either For Sale or as a Demo guitar. This will be painted in Primer Grey and clear matt lacquered, and will feature my latest BC500 single-coil pickups made to the same spec as the legendary Travis Bean TB500 pickups.
Building a pedal version of the Intersound Instrument Voice Pre-amplifier or IVP, the now rare and discontinued rack mount EQ unit as favoured by Steve Albini of Shellac. When coupled with an aluminium-necked guitar, this will deliver the signature clangy tone in spades. However, the IVP was much more versatile than just that, and has been utilised by acid-house DJs, producers, and a diverse array of musicians.
...and I came by an Intersound IVP that used to belong to Steve Albini...!
